Drixoral Cold And Sinus

If spring allergies are wrecking havoc with your life, consider Drixoral Cold and Sinus. An effective and trusted antihistamine and decongestant combination, Drixoral is formulated with two powerful medicines including an antihistamine and a decongestant to deliver fast 12 hour relief from nasal and sinus congestion, runny nose, sneezing and itchy watery eyes.

The rapid action found in Drixoral is due to a fast dissolving first layer, which is rapidly absorbed to deliver quick relief. A second layer dissolves slowly to provide relief for up to 12 hours.

Pseudoephedrine’s decongestant action helps to temporarily relieve nasal congestion caused by the common cold, hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies along with those associated with sinusitis. It also reduces swelling of nasal passages and shrinks swollen membranes temporarily restoring freer breathing through the nose.Dexbrompheniramine maleate’s antihistamine action alleviates runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat, and itchy and watery eyes as may occur in allergic rhinitis (such as hay fever).

Drixoral should be taken as directed. Adults and children 12 years and over – one tablet every 12 hours, not exceeding two tablets in 24 hours. A doctor should be consulted when children are under 12 years of age. Because of its long action and layered technology, the tablets must be swallowed whole and should not be crushed, chewed or dissolved. If taken as direction Drixoral is safe, however side effects may occur. Nervousness, dizziness and sleeplessness are reasons to discontinue use and consult a doctor. It’s recommended that you read the package insert carefully prior to use especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are taking any medication.

I live in California, USA, where apparently this medicine has been condemned by the govt and made into some kind of narcotic classification or something, because it is NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE. However, if you called up the FDA on the phone (which you can’t do) they would NOT tell you it has been banned or is illegal. What gives? It’s a combination of sudafed and an antihistamine. PERIOD! The only “non-drowsy” formula that doesn’t contain caffeine or other stimulant and is therefore OK to take with my BP med. I’ve never had an issue with it, took for at least 20yrs, some while still a Rx med, and suddenly –without warning– GONE from store shelves. I take original sudafed for stuffiness now, but it isn’t the same as Drixoral, which WORKS INSTANTLY.

Hello TroobeeH,
Thank you for your question and comments. You are not alone in wishing for Drixoral to be available more readily in the US. At this time, however, we can only ship Drixoral to Canadian addresses. We will keep our customers posted if this policy changes.
Best, Sharmani

Drixoral is unavailable. However, the same antihistamine can be found in Ala-Hist IR. It is available thru your pharmacy – manufactured by Poly Pharmaceutical Company.

For Robin,
Due to Canadian pharmacy regulations, we are only able to offer Drixoral to customers in Canada. Ala-hist IR is currently only available in the US and not through our online store.
Best, Sharmani
